Eric Cantona seems to be a great inspiration to some of the players playing for the Wolverhampton Wanderers team.

Wolves defender Ronald Zubar & midfielder Adlene Guedioura have all pointed to Cantona as a source of inspiration.

Zubar met Cantona when he was at Marseille.

“He was a great player and a real character,” he told the Birmingham Mail.

“The fact he’s still so much in the minds of fans shows what a player he was. Some of his goals were incredible. I loved his attitude.”

“When you went on to the pitch other players sometimes thought ‘he wants to kill me’. For that, I love this man.”

For Guedioura, currently on loan at Wolves from Charleroi: “My first memories of English football was when I saw Manchester United with Eric Cantona.”

“When I was younger I had a video of Cantona and I’d watch it so often. When I see a picture of him playing in the Premier League, I think back to those days. Cantona was a great player in England and Manchester United are a big club.”
